Monarch Mill Mine – Crow Pass – Girdwood, Alaska

September 19, 2016

I came back to Crow Pass (from Girdwood) with the intent of hiking to Raven Glacier, however the days are getting shorter and we did not have time to make it back to the trailhead before dark. For a Raven Glacier hike, see previous post

Instead of hiking to the glacier, we decided to hike to the historic mine sites.

The final mine site was the Monarch Mill Site. Although the buildings are no longer there, there is some old rusted equipment still left.

Again, I left another gold mine without finding any gold ☹️.

This hike was short but very pleasant, and some of the best views were right near the Crow Pass Trailhead.

For more information, please refer to my previous post.

This blog is simply a log of my personal experiences. It is not a travel guide, a trail guide, any other sort of a guide, and it is not intended to give information for replication.
