Exit Glacier – Seward, Alaska

October 9, 2016

It is only an easy one mile hike out to Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park! The trail starts out paved, and then turns in to a very nice gravel trail. Even in the rain, this was an easy hike.

The maintained trail ends at the lookout pictured below…

…but you can continue right up to the glacier.

There was another trail that leads out to the wash out plain at the base of the glacier. Unfortunately we were not wearing the proper footwear for this portion of the hike.

Overall, I would give this site two thumbs up! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ This was a lot cooler of a glacier than Byron Glacier, but definitely not as extensive as Matanuska Glacier. When the weather is better, we plan to hike a little further to the Harding Icefield.

This blog is simply a log of my personal experiences. It is not a travel guide, a trail guide, any other sort of a guide, and it is not intended to give information for replication.
