Gull Rock Trail – Hope, Alaska

December 3, 2016

The Gull Rock Trail is about 11 miles total along the coast of Turnagain Arm and was a pretty easy hike.

We didn’t see much wildlife, but we followed some lynx tracks for a couple miles.

The trail was a little rolling but a fairly steady small incline to Gull Rock.

At Gull Rock there is a great view of the Chugach Mountains.

It was really cool to see all the mountains we have been hiking from the other side of a Turnagain Arm.

With the amount of daylight we are having, it is hard to get a hike finished before dark. We ended up having to hike about an hour of this trail in the dark. I would potentially hike this trail again in the summer on a clear day, but overall this was not one of my favorite hikes.

For more information I found the following websites helpful:

This blog is simply a log of my personal experiences. It is not a travel guide, a trail guide, any other sort of a guide, and it is not intended to give information for replication.
