Northern Lights – Hatcher Pass, Alaska

December 31, 2016

Over the past couple weeks, the sky has been mostly foggy and the Aurora has been quite. Early this morning from 12:00 AM until I went to bed at 4:00 AM, the Lights were finally out.

I headed back up to Hatcher Pass and stopped at the Gold Mind Trailhead. This Trailhead offered a great view of the lights from all directions.

The lights weren’t super bright, but they were pretty.

During the drive back to Anchorage, the lights continued to get brighter. I had to pull over in Birchwood to get another picture.

Hopefully the Aurora will be very active in 2017. Happy New Year! 🎉

This blog is simply a log of my personal experiences. It is not a travel guide, a trail guide, any other sort of a guide, and it is not intended to give information for replication.
